My design solution for this commercial + residential space included site planning, building orientation, exterior design, interior design, finish selections, and modeling in Revit software.

The constraints of the project were quite restrictive, as the space is comprised of three shipping containers in a configuration of my design. Functional needs for both commercial and residential spaces were prioritized. The concept was driven by the client's desire to express their art style: Surrealism.

In order to convey surrealist ideals throughout the space, I focused on design aspects such as textured surfaces, exaggerated scale, organic shapes, and an element of surprise. My goal was to make one question what is normal.
